How to Register a Company in Zimbabwe

Most Zimbabwean businesses register as a private limited company. A Private Business Corporation (PBC) is a simpler member-based structure suited to small businesses, while a public limited company suits ventures raising capital more widely.

Your choice affects the particulars you must supply — a company needs directors, a company secretary and shareholders, while a PBC works on members and percentage interests.

Registration cannot proceed until a name is approved. You submit up to five proposed names in order of preference and pay the name search fee. If none of the names is approved, you submit a fresh list and the fee applies again.
