Company Name Search in Zimbabwe

A name search is an application to the Companies Registry to check whether a proposed name is available and acceptable for registration, and to reserve it.

On Partzile Compliance Hub you submit up to five names in order of preference. The submission is finalised by payment of the name search fee, and registration continues once an approved name is returned to you.

Name availability applications use the prescribed CR2 form under S.I. 46 of 2020, and an approved name is reserved for a limited period.

How many names can I submit?

Up to five, listed in order of preference.

What happens if none of my names is approved?

You submit a new list of preferred names. A further name search fee applies to each new list.

Is the fee refundable if my name is rejected?

The search fee covers the search itself. Refund terms are set out in the Refund & Fees Policy.

Can I register without a name search?

New registrations require an approved name first. Re-registrations of existing companies do not need a name search.
